WASHINGTON, DC – The horrific acts of violence carried out yesterday were a direct attack on our nation’s Capitol, our lawmakers, the American people, and our democracy itself.

The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) condemns the domestic terrorist attack on the Capitol. We firmly reject any attempts to undermine the lawful, peaceful, and democratic transition of power.

We extend our deepest appreciation to law enforcement and other officials at all levels of government who are working to ensure a safe and peaceful transfer of power to the incoming Biden administration. On behalf of an industry filled with eternal optimists, we hope that these dark events can be a galvanizing moment, reminding us that we are all fellow Americans who are stronger together, who can work together for a brighter tomorrow for our country, and who must do our part to protect the greatest democracy in human history.
