NVCA Statement on the Passing of Bill Draper
Washington, D.C. — National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) President & CEO Bobby Franklin released the following statement in response to the passing of former NVCA Board Member and Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Bill Draper.
“‘Drive, determination, leadership qualities, intelligence, and vision’ paired with unyielding integrity were the traits Bill Draper looked for in every founder he backed—and the very qualities he exemplified throughout his historic career. He believed deeply in humility and founder partnership, often reminding peers that the entrepreneurs sweating long hours are the true heroes carrying progress forward.
“As a Board Member of NVCA during its earliest days, Bill brought invaluable knowledge and generous leadership. He also went out of his way to welcome me, offering his time and steady counsel when I first stepped into this role. NVCA was honored to present him with our Lifetime Achievement Award. We join the entire venture ecosystem in mourning his passing, and our thoughts are with the entire Draper family.”
