Tell us about your firm.  What makes it different:

G Squared serves dynamic growth stage companies as a capital solutions provider. Our strategy helps alleviate the pressures of staying private longer by supporting companies with transitional capital through a variety of avenues, including primaries, secondaries, and tenders. We designed this approach to create value for companies, investors, employees, and other shareholders and enable company leadership teams to focus on growing the business. 

What defines your portfolio?

Our firm invests into four broad areas: SaaS, consumer internet, mobility 2.0, and fintech/insurtech. G Squared focuses on investing in some of the world’s fastest-growing tech companies, including household names like Airbnb, Bolt, Brex, Coursera, Instacart, Spotify, Toast, Turo, and Uber, as well as companies that we believe will become the next generation of disruptors including Bombas, Choco, Chime, Getir, Knowde, Tipalti, and Wiz.

Tell us about the current VC landscape in your geography/region.

G Squared is a global company – our name is a play on ‘global growth’ – and our reach offers support to companies and shareholders around the world seeking growth capital or liquidity as the market corrects and the IPO pipeline thaws. The current conditions facing VC are similar across regions, characterized by liquidity pressures for shareholders in all sectors and classes.  G Squared’s distinctive approach surfaces opportunity amid these challenges, with a particular focus on secondary markets.

Our four global offices support portfolio companies and investors around the world. G Squared is headquartered in Chicago and has offices in San Francisco, Zurich, and Miami.

What are the benefits of being an NVCA member?

Being a member of NVCA helps G Squared stay on the front line of policies that affect the VC world. They seek our feedback in highly relevant areas and offer resources like seminars, task force meetings, and research to keep us informed on industry trends and best practices. These offerings help to expand the breadth and depth of our reach in the VC community, and we’ve met many other great VCs and investors as a result.

What’s ahead for your firm in 2024?  

At G Squared we will remain steadfast in our mission and continue to offer liquidity relief for the VC ecosystem. We look forward to continuing to partner with growth-stage tech companies through our distinctive investment principles, creating the conditions for pioneering leaders to shape our future through technology.
