WilmerHale – Special Briefing on Israel’s start-up Ecosystem

We are thrilled to introduce Geshem, a new fund aimed at advancing innovation in Israel. The ongoing conflict in the Middle East has cast a challenging shadow over Israel’s dynamic startup landscape, particularly impacting promising seed-stage enterprises.

Amidst adversity, opportunity unfolds. Ten incubators in Israel have joined together with two U.S. pioneers in supporting start-ups in Israel and have created the Geshem Fund to back the best opportunities, threatened by the current situation.

The Fund will invest in a diverse portfolio of companies, from bioscience to energy to climate tech to agriculture and food. Investors participating in “Geshem” gain more than stakes in individual companies; they acquire a diversified risk model.

Funding from Geshem will be matched, in part, by the IIA (non-dilutive), and by the Incubator or one of its partners. Management fees and start-up costs of the Fund have been waived.
