Enhancing Women’s Access to Capital

March 20, 2018
3:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Coinciding with the first day of spring, on March 20, 2018, The Embassy of Canada will host Enhancing Women’s Access to Capital, an authoritative event designed to promote solutions to the challenges women face in securing the capital needed to grow their businesses.

According to Fortune and other recognized sources, women-led companies made up less than five percent of all VC deals in 2016. This event will serve to promote solutions in overcoming the challenges women face in securing the capital needed to grow their businesses. The event aligns firmly with the Canadian government’s interest to build a more inclusive and gender-balanced Canadian economy, and complements the Canada-U.S. Council for Advancement of Women Entrepreneurs and Business Leaders, which has structured its work under five pillars, one of which is increasing women’s access to capital. This Council was created on February 13, 2017, by Prime Minister Trudeau and President Trump.
