NVCA and Greenspring Associates launched LP Office Hours (“LPOH”) in 2018 as in-person, half-day educational programs across the country for professionals of diverse backgrounds to receive advice from and connect with LPs and other GPs, with the goal of learning from LPs about the fundraising process, GP-LP relationship management, and other guidance for success as a VC from the LP’s perspective. The target audience is women, minorities, immigrants, or other diverse individuals who want to learn. (Note: this is not a pitching event!)
We’ve held LPOH in Palo Alto (July 2018), Boston (November 2018), Washington, DC (June 2019), Los Angeles (November 2019), and virtually (June 2021). More than 100 women and minority VCs have attended LPOH, where 40+ LPs and 20+ experienced GPs hosted office hours through more than 180 1:1 meetings. The event is off-the-record and closed to the press.
LP Office Hours are operated by Venture Forward, NVCA’s supporting 501(c)(3) non-profit.
