The National Venture Capital Association, NVCA, is seeking a highly organized and collaborative Manager, Membership Operations & Events to support the planning and delivery of membership programs, events, renewals, sponsorships, and member data and communications.
Supporting the Director of Membership Engagement, the Manager will work closely with colleagues across Membership, Government Affairs, Communications, Research, and Administration. This role will serve as a central coordinator for member-facing programs from peer-group meetings and webinars to marquee annual events and awards programs. They will also support membership renewals, onboarding, invoicing, sponsorship fulfillment, and database management.
The ideal candidate is a proactive project manager who enjoys bringing people together, managing complex logistics, and ensuring that every participant, speaker, sponsor, and member has a professional and seamless experience.
Responsibilities
Membership Operations and Programs
- Support the Director, Membership Engagement in advancing membership retention, renewal, and business-development priorities.
- Coordinate the annual renewal cycle, including member outreach, invoicing, account updates, follow-up, and status tracking.
- Process new member applications and support onboarding.
- Maintain accurate member, prospect, renewal, event, sponsorship, and outreach records in Salesforce, including regular database hygiene.
- Coordinate member programming, including scheduling, invitations, agendas, materials, registration, and follow-up.
- Collaborate with Government Affairs, Communications, and Research to develop member programming and content.
- Track participation and feedback to identify opportunities to improve programming and member outreach.
- Prepare reports, presentations, briefing materials, and event calendars for internal planning and leadership discussions.
Events and Webinars
- Manage logistics for webinars, roundtables, conferences, summits, awards programs, receptions, and other virtual and in-person events.
- Develop project plans and coordinate speakers, sponsors, attendees, vendors, venues, audiovisual needs, materials, and internal stakeholders.
- Create and manage registration pages, invitations, confirmations, reminders, and attendance reporting using Cvent, Zoom, Salesforce, and related platforms.
- Lead speaker preparation, technical rehearsals, live and prerecorded production, and onsite or virtual event execution.
- Serve as a primary logistical contact and respond to participant needs before, during, and after events.
- Manage post-event surveys, recordings, attendee lists, reporting, and follow-up communications.
- Travel periodically and adjust working hours as needed to support programs and events.
Sponsorships and Special Programs
- Support sponsorship outreach, communications, invoicing, agreements, and fulfillment for NVCA programs and events.
- Track sponsor benefits, branding assets, registrations, speaking opportunities, deadlines, and post-event deliverables.
- Maintain accurate sponsorship records for financial reports.
Qualifications
- One or more years of relevant experience in a membership organization/association, events, program management, customer success, or CRM/database management.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating virtual and in-person events, including speakers, sponsors, attendees, vendors, and internal stakeholders.
- Experience using Cvent or a comparable event-management and registration platform.
- Experience using Salesforce or another customer relationship management system.
- Proficiency with Zoom or similar virtual-event and webinar platforms.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational and project-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple programs, deadlines, and stakeholders simultaneously.
- Rigorous attention to detail and a commitment to accurate, timely follow-through.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong customer-service orientation and the ability to communicate professionally with senior executives, members, sponsors, speakers, and colleagues.
- Familiarity with venture capital, startups, and public policy is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 – 75,000 commensurate with experience and qualifications
