TechNexus has a small nimble team and entrepreneurial roll-up-your-sleeves culture. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that thrives in an independent yet collaborative work environment with a “can-do” attitude. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Founders and will collaborate closely with Corporate Partners. Below is a non-exhaustive list of key responsibilities.

Core Accounting and Finance Responsibilities:
– Oversee the day-to-day financial and accounting operations of the organization and its multiple subsidiaries including managing books, payables, receivables, and vendor relationships.
– Conduct technical accounting research and interpretations to ensure financial compliance and optimize department systems, policies, practices, and procedures.
– Drive continuous improvement efforts to ensure the accurate flow of data from operations to financial ledgers.
– Jointly with the outsourced fund administrator, drive the preparation of quarterly financial statements, capital account statements and portfolio company summary reports.
– Support auditors and corporate partners by gathering and providing information and documents needed for inquiries and reports.
– Manage tax planning throughout the fiscal year and file annual corporate tax returns.
– Provide regular reports and analysis to leaders to ensure transparency of financial data and improve operations.

Additional Responsibilities (Portfolio and Investor Relations):
– Work with portfolio company founders and executives to improve financial statements and reporting, improve forecasts, systems, and/or serve as an interim finance leader if necessary.
– Learn, understand, and oversee current TechNexus Portfolio Investments, including current positions, ownership stakes, future opportunities and levers that can be pulled based on our ownership.
– Own critical business functions and analyses, such as quarterly partner company valuations, treasury, cash-flow forecasts, investor relations, government compliance, and budgeting.
– Provide guidance to portfolio companies as they consider new capital structures and exit transactions.
– Provide key financial reviews of all new investments to ensure that TechNexus is maximizing our interests.
– Support partner company strategic initiatives such as due diligence for acquisitions, debt, and equity capital raises.

Education, Experience and Knowledge Requirements:
– Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. 8+ years of financial operations management experience, including VC/PE industry.
– Comprehensive understanding of US GAAP, including recently issued accounting pronouncements, and SEC reporting principles and regulations.
– Knowledge of private fund structures and terms, valuation policies and procedures, investor reporting, and fund administration.
– Good knowledge of and experience using accounting software (i.e., QuickBooks).Experience working through ambiguity to communicate clear accounting positions and operational solutions.
– Experience managing relationships with external vendors, including legal counsel, auditors, and accountants.
– Previous experience scaling an organization and building a talented team.
– Previous M&A transaction experience in all phases of the deal lifecycle from pre-signing to post-close operations.
