WASHINGTON, DC –The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) is pleased to announce that Evan Keller has joined the organization as Director, Communications. Evan brings a strong background in strategic communications and public affairs.
“Evan’s deep expertise in policy communications and media relations brings added muscle to our team,” said Bobby Franklin, NVCA President and CEO. “The time he spent on Capitol Hill working with Senator Duckworth will be especially helpful in strengthening NVCA’s communications with policymakers.”
Evan previously served as Director of Strategic Communications at Avoq, where he managed communications for companies, including start-ups in tech, finance, and climate. In addition, he advised trade associations and non-profits. His role involved securing media coverage, developing strategic messages, and implementing thought leadership initiatives.
From 2017 to 2022, Evan served as Press Secretary to U.S. Senator Tammy Duckworth, contributing to several initiatives beneficial to the venture capital and small business sectors. Key achievements include supporting the Veterans Small Business Enhancement Act (2019), securing emergency funding for businesses during the COVID-19 pandemic, and advocating for resources and support for minority-owned businesses. Additionally, he worked closely with the Senator on defense issues.
Evan holds an MBA from the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business and a BA from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
