The Manager of Government Affairs for the National Venture Capital Association will support the efforts of the public policy department, including major public policy efforts, political action committee (PAC) management, advocacy days, research and writing projects, and otherwise help coordinate operations. In addition to supporting the public policy department, the position will provide assistance to other departments as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING (OTHER DUTIES MAY BE ASSIGNED):
1. Support public policy advocacy efforts, including drafting policy documents and newsletters, coordinating meetings, conducting research, attending fundraisers, and other work as needed to advance the policy agenda
2. Coordinate public policy education and advocacy days with policymakers in Washington and around the country
3. Manage Political Action Committee operations
4. Liaise with other departments to integrate public policy efforts across the association
5. Represent Association in meetings, forums, and other events
6. Advise and participate in coalitions
7. Assist in preparation of Board materials and Board presentations
8. Otherwise coordinate functions of the public policy department

QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidate is a professional, entry level to three years of policy experience, with a proven ability to support senior government affairs management with responsibilities in a fast-paced environment. The candidate should be a team player, extremely motivated, resourceful, organized, communicative, and able to support the department’s efforts by undertaking and completing tasks independently with strong attention to detail. REQUIREMENTS:

Willingness to learn and leverage experience to improve skills and capabilities strongly preferred.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Demonstrated proficiency in computer technology including applications for data management and electronic calendars (Windows, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required).
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent office experience.

Salary/Benefits: $75, 000- $95,000 competitive salary is commensurate with experience and includes health benefits package, generous paid vacation, annual performance-based bonus, public transportation reimbursement and use of wireless equipment & service.
