To help us achieve our mission, we are hiring a Venture Capital Investment Analyst to join our team for a 2-year program.

MMV combines an experienced venture capital investment team with the global reach of a Fortune 100 financial services company. We have built an industry reputation as a return-driven venture capital fund that leverages the value-enhancing potential of the MassMutual ecosystem for the benefit of our portfolio companies.

The Impact

Our ideal candidate for a Venture Capital Investment Analyst is someone with strong interpersonal and quantitative analysis skills who is excited to spend time thinking about and working with early-stage software startup companies. This individual will work closely with all members of the investment team to source, diligence, and execute equity investments in North America and Israel.

  • Source relevant companies for potential investment through networking and MMV’s proprietary data analytics tool
  • Map the product offerings of these startups against the broader competitive landscape, and screen potential investment opportunities via initial calls with company management
  • Present potential investment opportunities to the team during weekly meetings
  • Review data room materials and build a three-statement financial model with waterfall
  • Initial review and analysis of current investment opportunities.
  • Monitor CRM reminders for timely follow-up
  • Reach out to startup CEOs to screen for potential investment potential and follow-up with MMV team
  • Present investment opportunities and deal status at weekly meetings
  • The Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree (finance or computer science a plus, but not required)
  • 1+ years of full-time work experience

The Ideal Qualifications

  • A sincere interest in and curiosity about early-stage software entrepreneurship
  • Finance background sufficient to parse standard GAAP financial statements.
  • Ability to efficiently create financial models and analyze revenue growth, cash burn and other key metrics
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Professional demeanor. This individual is expected to communicate professionally with software company CEOs, and to represent MMV to the broader entrepreneurial and venture capital investment industry
  • Experience with professional writing and presentation
