WASHINGTON, DC – The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) is pleased to announce that Jess Woodie has joined the organization as Director, Marketing and Digital Storytelling. Jess’ strong creative vision will help advance NVCA’s mission and amplify the voice of the venture industry. 

“Jess is a powerhouse marketer and storyteller whose skillset will significantly elevate how NVCA tells the story of venture capital and its profound impact on American innovation,” said Bobby Franklin, NVCA President & CEO. “Her talent for getting the right message to the right people at the right time combined with deep experience across digital strategy, audience insights, and content creation—will help us shine a brighter spotlight on the remarkable entrepreneurs and companies transforming industries through venture backing.” 

Jess brings over a decade of experience leading high-impact digital strategy across advocacy, corporate, and agency environments. Most recently, Jess managed brand building, issue advocacy and lead-generation campaigns for Stand Together’s grassroots brands. Before that, she built omnichannel content around NASDAQ listing milestones, mergers and acquisitions, and key regulatory events for Indivior, a global pharmaceutical company. Previously, she led a multidisciplinary creative team at Targeted Victory. She also served as VP of digital advocacy at McGuireWoods Consulting, where she managed a diverse portfolio of clients across biotech, higher education, energy, and economic development. 

She began her professional career at the Republican National Committee (RNC) where she rose to Creative Director and managed a team of creatives, developed political marketing materials, and designed omnichannel digital programs. 

Jess earned her BA from Elon University with a bachelor’s degree and will soon add an MBA from Wake Forest University.
