Orange Silicon Valley’s Corporate Impact Summit
In 2016, the United Nations put 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) into effect as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy peace and prosperity. Achieving these objectives requires cooperation between the public and private sector, in addition to investment capital, technology innovation, and engagement of the world’s citizens. However, how do we engage with all of these stakeholders in a viable and sustainable way to ensure the long-term success of supporting programs? How do we track, connect, and communicate challenges and successes in the field? Which technological innovations will play an instrumental role in achieving our common goals?
For Orange, many of the UN’s SDGs relate closely to our core business, including: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure; Sustainable Cities and Communities; Affordable and Clean Energy; Good Health and Well-Being; and Gender Equality. With a significant footprint across Africa and the Middle East (130M mobile customers across 21 countries), accomplishing these goals helps enable the long-term sustainable growth of our company.
The 2018 Corporate Impact Summit, hosted by Orange Silicon Valley, will convene some of the foremost thought leaders in investment, technology, and entrepreneurship using innovative approaches to balance the fine line between risk and both economic and social returns, to benefit not only a business’s bottom line, but also their customers and the communities in which they operate.
