NVCA Taps New Research Director and Promotes Charlotte Savercool to Vice President of Government Affairs

Washington, DC – NVCA named seasoned data analyst, Shiloh Tillerman-Dick as the association’s new Research Director.

“Shiloh brings years of extensive, hands-on research experience to the team,” said NVCA President and CEO Bobby Franklin. “His expertise will enhance how we develop qualitative and quantitative data to showcase the dynamic power of America’s startup ecosystem in creating new jobs and high growth companies.”

Before joining NVCA, Shiloh was the Political Director at the Leadership Now Project, where he developed the organization’s political strategy, oversaw expansion into eight new states, and organized the group’s 2022 candidate program. Previously, he led the analytics group at Johns Hopkins Technology Ventures. From 2018 to 2020, he led analytics for the City of Baltimore and managed the big-data buildout for Marriott International, including the data integration for its 2016 merger with Starwood Hotels.

Shiloh is a graduate of Yale University and has lectured on analytics, public policy, and project management at the University of Maryland.

NVCA is also proud to announce the promotion of Charlotte Savercool to Vice President of Government Affairs. She joined NVCA in 2016 as the Director of Government Affairs and was elevated to Senior Director in 2021.

“From day one, Charlotte made tremendous contributions to the venture industry with her work on Capitol Hill,” said Franklin. “She has been an incredible advocate for VCs and her strategic judgment combined with her ability to build relationships has delivered impactful results for our members.”

Prior to joining NVCA, Charlotte spent six years on Capitol Hill as a staffer for the U.S. House Energy and Commerce Committee. She also served as a Legislative Clerk and Legislative Coordinator, where she was responsible for several official committee business matters. Charlotte graduated from Virginia Tech with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science.
