WASHINGTON, DC – The National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) today announced the appointment of Cassie Ann Hodges as Director of Communications effective immediately. Hodges comes to NVCA from the United Nations Foundation, where she served as Officer of Communications.

Her diverse background in global and domestic strategic communications and stakeholder outreach will be a major asset to NVCA,” said Bobby Franklin, NVCA President and CEO. “Her deep expertise with entrepreneurial, membership and advocacy communications will be critical to NVCA as we continue our ongoing efforts to better serve the venture community, startups and entrepreneurs. We are thrilled to add someone as dedicated and dynamic as Cassie Ann to push our communications efforts to new heights.”

At the United Nations Foundation, Hodges worked with the UNA-USA and Public Affairs teams, focusing on brand development, media relations, advocacy communications, and digital stakeholder outreach. Prior to the United Nations Foundation, Hodges served as Senior Manager of Strategy and Communications for the U.S. Chamber of Commerce. At the U.S. Chamber, her strategic communications portfolio included International Trade and Investment, the Global Innovation Policy Center, Healthcare, Labor, and Immigration, and International Affairs. Prior to the Chamber, she served in Marketing and Communications at EMPEA (Emerging Markets Private Equity Association), supporting the organization’s connectivity with its global membership community, investor network, and ecosystem of financial and emerging markets stakeholders.

Hodges earned Bachelor’s degrees in International Affairs and Spanish from the University of Georgia Honors College and her Masters of Arts in International Communication from the School of International Service at American University.
