WASHINGTON, DC –Today, the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) announced that Charles Hudson, Managing Partner at Precursor Ventures, will serve as the 2023-2024 Chair of the NVCA Board of Directors.

“This is a defining moment for the venture community as we rise above unparalleled macroeconomic challenges and restore faith in the innovation ecosystem,” said NVCA President and CEO Bobby Franklin. “Charles’ deep experience in venture capital and dedication to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion make him the ideal leader to guide the industry through this crucial turning point and toward a brighter future.”

“As Board Chair, I will champion investments in game-changing technologies that improve the quality of life for people across the globe,” said Hudson. “And I am committed to promoting inclusivity and upholding the mission of NVCA that has established it as the symbol of hope and progress for entrepreneurs and innovators.”

Hudson is preceded by Emily Melton, Managing Partner at Threshold Ventures. Melton played a pivotal role in successfully guiding NVCA and its membership through a flurry of legislative activity and unprecedented challenges.

“Emily’s unwavering dedication to the entrepreneurial ecosystem and commitment to advancing the interests of our members set an exceptional standard that will be long remembered,” said Franklin. “Her effective communication with policymakers helped secure generational investments for the venture capital industry, while her visionary leadership and unique understanding of Washington helped protect the ecosystem against counterproductive tax and regulatory threats.”
