Global Graphene Expo and Conference
Graphene known as the “Wonder Material of 21st century” is one atomic layer of carbon. It is the thinnest and strongest material ever existed, flexible, transparent and extremely electrically and thermally conductive. Since its discovery in 2004 and subsequent Nobel Prize award in 2010, graphene has advanced from initial discovery to commercial development faster than any other advanced material in recent history. Graphene applications span from next generations sensors, flexible transparent electronics, composites, coatings, enhanced steel and concrete, water filtration batteries and more.
While Europe and China lead, the US remains behind in commercializing this vital material. Recognizing this gap, the U.S. Senate Armed Services Committee, in the FY19 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), instructed the Department of Defense to examine graphene’s potential for military applications and to report back to Congress on DoD’s findings. The Global Graphene Expo and Confernce provides the next step in establishing sustained U.S. leadership in this industry.
