Are you passionate about public policy, innovation, and supporting startups and entrepreneurs? Our highly engaged, fast-moving, four-person government affairs team is seeking a Legislative Analyst/Coordinator to support advocacy efforts on behalf of the venture capital industry and the entrepreneurial ecosystem nationwide. This is an exciting opportunity for a Capitol Hill staffer or a government affairs professional whose experience includes working with multiple clients. Candidates should have 1-3 years of experience and be eager to make an impact by tracking and analyzing legislation/regulations, researching and writing policy articles, planning Lobby Days and Hill visits, and helping facilitate the PAC.

Legislative/Regulatory Tracking and Research

  • Monitor and analyze federal and state legislation, hearings, and regulatory developments impacting venture capital, startups, and entrepreneurship.
  • Track and summarize key policy trends, committee hearings, and government reports relevant to the industry.
  • Assist in answering ad-hoc policy questions from stakeholders and internal teams.
  • Track news and reports from agencies, VCs, associations, and coalitions supporting the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

Writing and Policy Document Creation

  • Draft legislative updates, policy analysis, and weekly news articles on key developments affecting VCs and startups.
  • Prepare briefing memos, fact sheets, and policy summaries for use in advocacy efforts.
  • Monitor political and regulatory trends, identifying emerging risks and opportunities for the venture capital industry.
  • Assist in drafting white papers, comments, letters, testimony, and correspondence to lawmakers and administration officials on legislative priorities.
  • Support social media and public-facing advocacy efforts related to legislative priorities.

Event Planning and Legislative Fly-ins

  • Plan and implement legislative fly-ins and advocacy days, including:
    • Scheduling meetings with members of Congress, agency officials, and stakeholders.
    • Promoting events and engaging with attendees.
    • Producing briefing materials, handouts, and policy packets for advocacy participants.
  • Provide on-site and virtual logistical support for government affairs events.

PAC Management

  • Absolute attention to detail and organization.
  • Proficiency in tracking donor information, processing contributions, and reconciling financial reports.
  • Experience preferred in donor outreach, relationship management, and political fundraising strategies.
  • Ability to draft PAC communications, including solicitations, newsletters, and donor updates.
  • Strong organizational skills to coordinate fundraising events, PAC meetings, and donor briefings.

Computer Skills 

  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook required.
  • Salesforce, Quorum, PoliticoPro, Pitchbook desired.

Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree or higher.

Salary & Benefits: $75,000 – $95,000 Competitive salary is commensurate with experience and includes health benefits package, generous paid vacation, annual performance-based bonus, public transportation reimbursement, and use of wireless equipment & service.
