Flashpoint NYC Demo Day
January 26 @ 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
Flashpoint@Georgia Tech, along with our co-sponsors the HBS Angels of New York, ff Venture Capital, and Alpha Venture Partners invites you to join us at our upcoming New York Demo Day on Thursday, January 26, 2017 at 10:00 AM in the SUNY Global Center.
Since 2011, companies that originated at Flashpoint have grown to a combined valuation of nearly $1 billion. At Demo Day, you will meet the new batch of companies and hear from Dr. Merrick Furst, who will discuss authentic demand and applying the science of behavioral economics to startups.
A Startup Program Unlike Any Other
Flashpoint startups employ a unique approach to understand their markets, discover authentic customer demand, and build innovative products that meet it. At Demo Day, all the startups in the current batch show their work. VCs and angel investors have told us that they like investing in Flashpoint companies because the founders have a clearer understanding of their customers and markets. Following the presentations, investors and founders will have an opportunity to talk and learn more about each other.
What is Flashpoint?
Flashpoint works closely with founders in a startup studio where they utilize methods of behavioral economics and startup engineering to develop exceptional opportunities. Georgia Tech recognized Dr. Merrick Furst’s development of these methods with the university’s highest award for Outstanding Achievement in Research Innovation.
Operating since 2011, Flashpoint is among the most experienced startup studios in the world. It is unique in its approach. Flashpoint startups have raised over $300 million from top tier venture firms. The companies in Flashpoint’s portfolio are valued at well over $1 billion. You can learn more about how Flashpoint works in a Forbes interview with Dr. Furst, and in an excerpt from the recently released Harvard Business Review Press book, An Everyone Culture, Becoming a Deliberately Developmental Organization (Kegan and Lahey).
